Women-Exclusive Industrial Parks to Empower Rural Entrepreneurs In Telangana

Hyderabad : Telangana State IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu has announced the establishment of exclusive industrial parks for women in every legislative constituency, with a focus on empowering rural women. The announcement was made during the launch of the brochure for the second edition of “Food A Fair,” set to take place from June 12 to 14 at HITEX. The event, organized by the State Government, HITEX Exhibitions, and the Telangana Food Processing Society, aims to bring together food producers, processing experts, packaging professionals, and chefs for intellectual discussions across various domains.

Minister Sridhar Babu emphasized Telangana’s favorable conditions for food processing industries, highlighting investments exceeding ₹16,000 crore and the development of 14 special food processing zones across 7,150 acres. He noted the state’s commitment to supporting new entrepreneurs, with over 6,800 micro food processing units already operational. The government plans to prioritize the establishment of such facilities in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities and towns.

The Minister expressed the state’s ambition to lead in agriculture and agro-based industries, complementing its success in IT and pharmaceuticals. The event was attended by key officials, including State Industries Commissioner Malsur and Telangana Food Processing Director Akhil, alongside “Food A Fair” organizers.
