Bijapur ( Chhattisgarh): Security forces in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district thwarted a sinister Maoist plan by recovering and safely neutralizing two powerful Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) on the Ponjer-Peddakorma rough track. On Sunday, June 22, 2025, a joint team of the District reserve gaurd (DRG) and Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) was deployed for area domination and demining operations along the route.
At around 10:00 AM, the BDS team detected two 5-kg IEDS concealed in steel tiffins, strategically placed by Maoists along the Peddakorma path, approximately 400-500 meters apart near a riverbank and over the river. Demonstrating utmost caution and expertise, the Bijapur BDS team safely defused the explosives, averting a potential tragedy.
The operation highlights the vigilance and efficiency of the security forces in countering Maoist threats in the region.
