A Bench comprising Justices B.R. Gavai and A.G. Masih heard the suo motu case regarding environmental violations. The court has scheduled the next hearing for May 15, granting Telangana four weeks to respond to the Central Empowered Committee (CEC) report. Additionally, the state’s wildlife warden has been instructed to explain steps taken to safeguard displaced animals.
The report also highlighted the presence of wildlife in the area, including peacocks, deer, and various bird species, emphasizing the ecological significance of the forest. Approximately 100 acres of the forest have already been destroyed, with a lake situated beside the deforested area serving as a habitat for deer and other wildlife.
The allegations claim that these celebrities endorsed betting apps that misled users into financial losses. Complaints filed by advocates and affected individuals accuse the actors of violating the Telangana Gaming (Amendment) Act, 2017, and the Digital Media Ethics Code.
Police stated that Sunny Yadav, who is known for traveling internationally on his bike, used his influence on social media to promote illegal betting platforms. Following the case registration, law enforcement has intensified efforts to bring him back to India and arrest him.
The ED registered a case against the Falcon Group and its CMD in connection with an Rs 850-crore Ponzi scheme linked to the Falcon invoice discounting platform. The aircraft was purchased in 2024 for Rs 16 crores using proceeds from the Ponzi scheme.
hree directors-Giles Antony Hunt, Indu Shekhar Sinha, and Paul Michael Gibbons-have each been fined over ₹1.14 crore for their roles during the period of contravention. The ED’s action comes after previous financial investigations into BBC India, highlighting concerns over regulatory compliance and enforcement of FEMA rules.
KTR presented the ED officials with a report by the independent organization Nielsen, which stated that the Formula E race generated an economic benefit of $82 million for the state’s economy. Despite the High Court’s decision, KTR has moved the Supreme Court to challenge the ACB case. Meanwhile, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has also initiated a probe into the matter, summoning all three accused for questioning.
The ACB had registered a case against KTR and two others, alleging misappropriation of funds in the Formula E car racing event. KTR was named as Accused No. 1 (A1), IAS officer Arvind Kumar as Accused No. 2 (A2), and retired HMDA Chief Engineer BLN Reddy as Accused No. 3 (A3).
