GHMC Raid Reveals Poor Hygiene in Popular Bakeries.

commissioner RVkarnan food safety officers inspected 57 bakeries, collecting 80 food samples for analysis at the State food laboratory in Nacharam. The inspections exposed widespread violations, including open dustbins, housefly infestations, and food handlers working without hairnets or gloves. Many bakeries lacked valid FSSAI licenses, failed to display “best before” dates, and operated in unhygienic kitchens with food-littered floors and poor drainage systems.

GHMC cracks down on the corrupt, terminates 27 erring engineers

Reports suggest that instead of reporting violations to section officers, the engineers allegedly demanded bribes from property owners to conceal irregularities.
