Telangana: Heatwave a State-Specific Disaster now, Sunstroke death to get Rs 4 lakh

In a crucial move to protect citizens, the government has announced an increase in compensation for victims of heat-related illnesses. Under the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF), families of those who succumb to heatstroke will now receive Rs 4 lakh in ex-gratia payment. Previously, the compensation under the disaster relief scheme was Rs 50,000, marking a substantial increase in financial support.
