Hyderabad: Senior IPS officer of Andhra Pradesh, PSR Anjaneyulu, who served as Intelligence Chief during the YCP regime, was arrested in Hyderabad on Tuesday. He is the second accused in a high-profile case involving Bollywood actress Kadambari Jethwani. The officer, currently under suspension, is being shifted from Hyderabad to Amaravati for further investigation.
The case stems from allegations made by Jethwani, a model-actress, who claims that a false case was filed against her and her family by political leader and film producer KVR Vidyasagar. The dispute revolves around a land deal, which Jethwani alleges led to her and her parents’ arrest, detention, and harassment by police. She accuses Vidyasagar of retaliating against her for filing a complaint against him.
Jethwani has detailed instances of alleged police misconduct, including physical force and threats to withdraw her complaint. The Andhra Pradesh government has suspended three senior police officers, including a DGP-rank officer, for their involvement in the improper arrest and alleged harassment.
The actress has filed a complaint with the Ibrahimpatnam police, seeking justice and urging the government to take action against those responsible. The investigation remains ongoing, with Anjaneyulu’s arrest marking a significant development in the case.
