Top Maoist Nambala Killed in Chhattisgarh Encounter

Hyderabad: Inflicting a major blow against the CPI (Maoist) leadership, security forces eliminated Nambala Keshava Rao, alias Basavaraju, the general secretary of the outlawed Communist Party of India (Maoist), along with 27 other Naxalites in Chhattisgarh’s Bastar region on Wednesday.

The high-intensity operation took place in the dense forests of Abhujmad, strategically located at the tri-junction of Narayanpur, Bijapur, and Dantewada districts. Acting on intelligence inputs about the presence of top Maoist leaders, security personnel launched the mission two days ago.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah hailed the operation as a landmark achievement, praising security forces for their efforts in neutralizing the dreaded Maoist commander.
