“If every leader claims the party as their own, we’ll see results,” she said. Reflecting on her contributions, Kavitha recalled her role in the Telangana movement, saying, “I fought for Telangana with a child in my womb, not for positions.”
Kavitha’s remarks exposed deep-seated tensions within BRS, as she questioned the unauthorized disclosure of a confidential six-page letter she wrote to KCR, offering feedback on his silver jubilee speech. “Why am I being targeted for calling out leakers? Is it fair to attack the daughter of the house?” she asked, alleging that some leaders were orchestrating paid social media campaigns against her instead of confronting Congress and BJP.
The discussion also brought to light also the contributions of YS Rajasekhar Reddy, whose initiatives like Aarogyasri and student fee reimbursement schemes, as KTR claimed, were acknowledged by KCR in the legislative assembly. K T Rama Rao recalled that continuation of YSR’s initiatives was also assured by KCR as the then chief minister in view of their lasting impact on the state’s welfare.
