Hyderabad Skill Varsity: CM says no to Adani’s e offer

Hyderabad: In the wake of a US government case against Adani, the Congress-led Telangana government has turned down a Rs 100 crore donation from the Adani Foundation intended for the establishment of the Young Indian Skills University in Hyderabad. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced the decision, stating that while the offer was made, not a single rupee had been received in cash.

The Adani Foundation’s donation aimed to support the development of industry-specific skills among young people in Telangana. However, the donation has sparked sharp criticism from opposition parties, including the BJP and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), who accused the Congress of “double-talk” in its stance on Adani.

The donation was handed over during a meeting between Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy in Hyderabad on Friday. The opposition parties have questioned the Congress’s consistency, pointing out the party’s national criticism of Adani while accepting donations at the state level.

This development has added fuel to the ongoing political debate over the relationship between the Congress and the Adani Group, with opposition leaders demanding clarity and transparency from the ruling party.
