Following a stampede incident during the premiere of “Pushpa-2,” Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had announced in the Assembly that there would be no more ticket price hikes or benefit shows in Telangana. The government recently permitted higher ticket prices and additional shows for the movie “Game Changer,” starring global star Ram Charan.

This decision was challenged in the High Court by a petitioner named Bharat Raj. The court expressed dissatisfaction with the government’s inconsistent stance on benefit shows and emphasized the importance of audience safety. The court also questioned the fairness of producers charging exorbitant prices for movies made with large budgets and suggested a review of permissions for shows after midnight.

The case has been adjourned, with the Home Department’s Special Chief Secretary Ravi Gupta being directed to take necessary actions.
