The police have arrested the prime suspect, Sachin in the murder of the Congress party worker Himani Narwal in Haryana. The acused, a mobile shop owner in Rohtak, had allegedly strangled Himani using a mobile phone charging wire following an argument.
According to police reports, Sachin and Himani had been friends for over a year and a half, and he frequently visited her home. On February 2, a dispute between them escalated, leading to the tragic murder.
Sachin then transported her body in a suitcase and disposed of it in a deserted area near the Sampla bus stand in Rohtak. Her body was discovered on March 1, 2025, triggering an intense police investigation that soon led to Sachin’s arrest.
Himani Narwal was a committed member of the Indian National Congress and played an active role in various party activities. She served as the District Vice President of the Youth Congress in Rohtak and worked closely with senior leaders like Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Deepender Hooda during election campaigns. Notably, she was also a participant in Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’.
For the past five months, Himani had been living alone in her ancestral home in Rohtak while pursuing legal studies at a local college. Her dedication to politics and legal education showcased her determination to make a difference.
Himani’s mother, Savita Narwal, has alleged that internal party politics might have played a role in her daughter’s untimely death. She claimed that certain party members were envious of Himani’s rising political career and may have contributed to the circumstances leading to her murder.
