The city welcomed the New Year 2025 with a bang, as the city came alive with celebrations and merrymaking. Approximately 3,000 individuals were caught driving under the influence of alcohol, and a staggering Rs 402 crore worth of liquor was sold during the festivities.
The city’s temples were packed with devotees seeking blessings, while flyovers were closed during the night to manage the heavy traffic. Bakeries across the city experienced a roaring business as people indulged in sweet treats to ring in the New Year. Political leaders joined in the celebrations, offering prayers for the city’s prosperity.
City bathed in glow of fire works
Despite the revelry, strict measures were in place to ensure safety. Over 22,000 police officials were deployed to monitor the celebrations, conducting checks for drunk driving and other violations. The city remained incident-free, thanks to the vigilant efforts of the Hyderabad, Cyberabad, and Rachakonda police commissionerates.
