Murder the most foul: Hyderabad’s Industrialist VJR Fatally Stabbed

Hyderabad: In a shocking turn of events, Velamati Janardhana Rao, an 86-year-old prominent industrialist and chairman of Veljan Group, was found dead under mysterious circumstances in his home in Punjagutta. The police have revealed that Rao was murdered by his own grandson, Kirti Teja, over property disputes.

According to the police, Kirti Teja, who was reportedly addicted to drugs, had demanded a director post in the company. When his grandfather refused, Teja allegedly attacked him with a knife 73 times. The police also mentioned that Teja attacked his grandmother when she tried to intervene, causing her severe injuries.

The incident came to light when neighbors heard the commotion and alerted the authorities. Kirti Teja managed to escape but was later arrested in Eluru. The police are investigating the case further to uncover any additional details.

Rao, who had a net worth of over Rs 100 crores, was well-known in the industrial sector and had generously donated Rs 40 crores to various charities over the years.
