Tirupati: A multi-crore scam involving a key person tasked with sorting of valuable offerings, including diamonds and foreign currency, has come to light in Parakamani operations at the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD). TTD Governing Council Member Bhanu Prakash Reddy made sensational allegations on Wednesday, demanding a high-level probe by a sitting judge. He accused influential officials during the YSRCP regime of being involved in the scam.
Key Allegations:
- Loot of Foreign Currency and Diamonds: Reddy alleged that high-ranking officials in the TTD, under the Jagan Mohan Reddy government, colluded with an individual named Ravi to loot foreign currency and diamonds from the Srivari Hundi.
- Police Pressure on Vigilance Officials: He claimed that the police, under the Jagan Mohan Reddy government, pressured TTD vigilance officials to weaken the case. The vigilance report had a clear mentioned about the pressure from the police.
- Demand for Transparency: Reddy demanded that the police officers who pressured the TTD vigilance officials be exposed. He also revealed that some properties bought with the looted money were transferred to TTD.
Further Investigations:
Reddy stated that they have information about large sums of money looted by Ravi, with the involvement of TTD officials under the Jagan Mohan Reddy government. He called for a sitting judge to investigate the individuals and forces behind this scam. He also mentioned that they have information about evidence being tampered with.
Security Concerns:
Reddy expressed concerns for Ravi Kumar’s safety and demanded security for him, stating that his life is in danger.
Scale of the Scam:
Reddy claimed that this is not just a ₹100 crore scam but a ₹500 crore scam. He accused the Jagan Mohan Reddy government of compromising with the looters and highlighted several other atrocities that occurred under the government. He mentioned that the vigilance report, commissioned by the government, contains detailed information about these incidents. If further actions are taken based on the vigilance report, many individuals could end up in jail, Reddy added.
