Hyderabad: In a significant development, the Telangana High Court has dismissed the quash petition filed by BRS Working President and former Minister K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) in connection with the Formula E car racing case.

KTR had sought to quash the case registered by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), but the court sided with the government’s arguments and lifted the interim orders that had previously prevented KTR’s arrest. The High Court emphasized that it could not interfere with the ACB’s investigation and reiterated that the rule of law applies to everyone.
The ACB had registered a case against KTR and two others, alleging misappropriation of funds in the Formula E car racing event. KTR was named as Accused No. 1 (A1), IAS officer Arvind Kumar as Accused No. 2 (A2), and retired HMDA Chief Engineer BLN Reddy as Accused No. 3 (A3).
In response, KTR filed a quash petition in the High Court, seeking to dismiss the FIR registered by the ACB. The court had previously issued interim orders preventing KTR’s arrest, but these orders have now been lifted, allowing the ACB to proceed with its investigation.
