India-Pakistan show down unfolding into a full scale conflict

New Delhi: India-Pakistan conflict has escalated sharply following a dramatic series of military exchanges along the border and beyond. The situation turned volatile after two Pakistani F-16 fighter jets were reportedly shot down by Indian Air Force (IAF) units. One of the pilots, sources confirm, was captured alive by India’s Border Security Force (BSF) after ejecting near the Line of Control.

In a swift and coordinated retaliatory operation, Indian forces launched targeted drone strikes on key Pakistani cities—Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Islamabad. The strikes are believed to have focused on strategic military installations and suspected terrorist infrastructure. Eyewitness accounts and unconfirmed reports suggest significant damage in some of the targeted areas.

The Indian Ministry of Defence has given armed forces a “free hand” to respond to any provocation, leading to heightened military activity across multiple sectors, including Jammu, Jaisalmer, and the Sialkot sector. Heavy artillery shelling was reported from both sides, with intermittent exchanges intensifying by the hour. Authorities confirmed there has been no damage to Jammu Airport, despite rumors of a potential strike.

Simultaneously, Indian surveillance has detected unusual movements in the Arabian Sea, where a Naval- deployment is believed to have taken place using a P-812 aircraft. While the details remain classified, naval forces are said to be on high alert.

In a parallel development, four explosions rocked Peshawar late in the evening, resulting in chaos and speculation over their origin. Pakistani media has claimed possible drone involvement, although no official confirmation has yet been issued.

International observers are closely monitoring the rapidly evolving conflict, with diplomatic channels scrambling to de-escalate the confrontation. Meanwhile, both nations remain on high military alert, and advisories have been issued for civilian populations near border areas to remain indoors and avoid non-essential travel.
