The highlight of the festival has been the remarkable Eagle Kite, crafted by local resident Ashok Kumar. This indigenous masterpiece has garnered special attention from foreign kite enthusiasts who were keen on understanding its unique design. The “Swadesi Eagle Kite” not only showcased local craftsmanship but also emphasized the spirit of “Local for Vocal for Made in India.”
A Local Hero with a Global Reputation
Ashok Kumar, with over 25 years of participation in national and international kite festivals and around 30 awards to his name, shared that he and his team of ten dedicated three months to create the Eagle Kite. His passion for kite making and flying has left an indelible mark on all visitors.

The festival features over 50 international kite flyers and 60 local participants, each displaying an impressive array of kites, ranging from intricate 3D designs to traditional Indian patterns. Drawing more than 15 lakh visitors, this event has become a major attraction.

To ensure a pleasant experience for attendees, the organizers have made extensive preparations, including setting up Shamiana tents, drinking water stations, and play areas for children. Enhanced public transport services and traffic diversions are in place to manage the influx of visitors, with roads leading to the Parade Grounds temporarily closed.
