GHMC Launches App for Better Streetlights

Hyderabad : The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has introduced a cutting-edge streetlight management app to streamline the maintenance and monitoring of streetlights across Hyderabad. This initiative aims to ensure well-lit public spaces and improve urban services.

GHMC Commissioner K. Ilambarithi emphasized the app’s pivotal role in tracking assets such as electricity meters, centralized control and monitoring system (CCMS) panels, poles, and lights. The app facilitates the prompt identification and resolution of faults, ensuring swift repairs and uninterrupted lighting.

To equip its staff with the necessary skills, GHMC recently organized a training program at its headquarters. Electrical engineers, division electricians, and representatives from TG Online Agency participated in the session. The training covered streetlight audits, data entry, and repair management, with practical demonstrations of the app’s functions.

The app is expected to revolutionize streetlight maintenance by enabling active monitoring and efficient management. GHMC’s proactive approach reflects its commitment to enhancing urban infrastructure and providing better services to citizens.
This digital transformation marks a significant step toward creating a smarter and safer Hyderabad, ensuring that every corner of the city remains illuminated.
