ED Goes All Out In Formula E Race Case as KTR Pledges Full Cooperation

Hyerabad: BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) was extensively questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials in connection with the Formula E car race case. The interrogation, which lasted for nearly seven hours, took place from 10:40 AM to 5:30 PM on Thursday. During this prolonged session, KTR provided detailed answers to various questions posed by the ED.

KTR assured the ED officials that he would cooperate fully with the investigation and answer all their questions. He expressed his immense respect for the Indian Constitution and the country’s judicial system. KTR handed over two documents to the ED: a report by Nielsen on the Formula E event and the Telangana EV Policy 2020, and received a receipt for the same.

KTR presented the ED officials with a report by the independent organization Nielsen, which stated that the Formula E race generated an economic benefit of $82 million for the state’s economy. Additionally, he provided a copy of the Telangana Electric Vehicle Policy announced in October 2020, which aims to establish Telangana as a hub for mobility with alternative energy sources.

KTR explained that the Formula E race was organized as part of a long-term agenda to promote electric vehicle manufacturing and attract investments in the EV sector in Telangana. He emphasized that the race benefited both the state and the country, enhancing India’s prestige. KTR also mentioned that several Union Ministers, including Hardeep Singh Puri, Nitin Gadkari, Anurag Thakur, and Kishan Reddy, participated in the event.

KTR clarified that there were no instances of corruption or misappropriation of funds in the entire affair. The records clearly show that the funds from the government reached the Formula E organization without any discrepancies. During the ED interrogation, officials also inquired about KTR’s personal bank accounts and assets, to which he assured them of providing all necessary details.
