Hyderabad: Controversial filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma is facing imminent arrest as police prepare to take him into custody. A team of six police officers, including two sub-inspectors, arrived at Varma’s residence in Hyderabad. This action follows Varma’s repeated failure to appear for questioning in a morphing case registered at Maddipadu Police Station.
The case against Varma involves allegations of morphing images, and he was initially summoned for questioning on November 19. Varma requested a week’s extension, citing his busy film shooting schedule, which the police granted. However, when the extended deadline expired, Varma failed to appear for questioning at 11 AM on Monday, prompting the police to take further action.
Upon reaching his residence in Hyderabad, the police were informed by the staff that Varma was not at home. Despite this, the police remain stationed at his residence, ready to arrest him at any moment and transport him to Maddipadu for further investigation.
This development has created a tense atmosphere at Varma’s residence, with the police determined to ensure his compliance with the legal process.
