Fatal parking dispute in Hyderabad apartment claims resident’s Life

Hyderabad: A heated altercation over a parking spot in an apartment complex in Hyderabad’s Chaitanyapuri police station jurisdiction turned deadly, resulting in the death of a resident. The incident, which took place at the Vaishnavi Rutik Apartment in Kothapet, came to light recently, sending shockwaves through the city.

According to details, Gandra Nagireddy, a long-time resident of the apartment for the past 13 years, lived there with his family. On the day of the incident, Krishna Jivvaji, the son-in-law of Suri Kamakshi, who resides on rent in Flat No. 402 of the same apartment, had visited and parked his car in the apartment premises. Nagireddy, upon returning from outside, parked his car behind Jivvaji’s vehicle.

The situation escalated when Jivvaji, preparing to leave, noticed scratches on his car. Blaming Nagireddy for the damage, Jivvaji called the apartment watchman to summon Nagireddy downstairs. A confrontation ensued, during which Jivvaji allegedly attacked Nagireddy. Witnesses reported that Nagireddy began bleeding from his ear and foaming at the mouth before collapsing. His family rushed him to a hospital, but doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

Following a complaint filed by Nagireddy’s wife, the Chaitanyapuri police registered a case and have initiated an investigation into the incident.
