Hyderabad: Calling December a month of miracles, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy highlighted the significance of this month during the grand Christmas celebrations organised at LB Stadium. He noted that December is special not only because of the birth of Jesus Christ, celebrated worldwide, but also for the people of Telangana. It was in December, eleven years ago, that the process for creating a separate Telangana state was initiated. Additionally, Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, who played a crucial role in granting statehood to Telangana, was born in this month.
Revanth Reddy acknowledged the crucial role of the Christian fraternity in building a healthy Telangana. He reiterated the government’s commitment to protecting all religions and ensuring that no one speaks against another faith. He assured that the government would not tolerate religious hatred and would provide 100 percent protection to the Christian community.
The Chief Minister emphasized the universal celebration of Christmas and the message of love and affection that Jesus Christ preached. He praised the Christian community for their contributions to providing free education and medical services to the poor, often surpassing government efforts in quality and participation in societal development.
Revanth Reddy announced that the government would provide 200 units of free power supply to poor Dalit and tribal Christians. He also mentioned that the official process of allocating Indiramma houses to the needy would commence after the Sankranti festival. The state government is considering measures to ensure that poor Dalits and Dalit Christians benefit from the housing scheme.
