Chopper Crash: Infant among seven Kedarnath bound pilgrims killed

Gaurikund, Uttarakhand: A devastating helicopter crash occurred near Kedarnath on June 15, 2025, killing all seven people on board, including the pilot and six passengers. The Aryan Aviation Pvt Ltd chopper, en route from Kedarnath to Guptkashi, crashed in a dense forest between Gaurikund and Sonprayag around 5:30 AM IST, shortly after takeoff. Authorities lost contact with the aircraft, and preliminary reports suggest adverse weather conditions led to a hard landing, causing the helicopter to burst into flames.

Rescue teams, including police and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), were swiftly deployed to the remote crash site, but no survivors were found. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed deep condolences, assuring that relief operations are underway. The identities of the victims are yet to be released pending family notifications.
