India Issues Special Advisory Amid Iran Unrest

Tehran/ New Delhi: The Indian Embassy in Tehran has issued a fresh advisory to Indian nationals and people of Indian origin residing in Iran, urging them to exercise extreme caution as the country grapples with widespread protests, a communications blackout, and heightened security tensions.
The advisory calls on visitors and residents to avoid non‑essential travel, remain indoors fter dark, and steer clear of areas where demonstrations are taking place. It also recommends that Indian citizens keep their travel documents and identification readily available, maintain contact with family members, and register with the embassy for emergency support.
With Iran’s airspace temporarily closed earlier this week and intermittent disruptions to internet and mobile services continuing, the embassy emphasized the importance of staying updated through official channels rather than relying on social media. Emergency helplines have been activated to assist those in need of consular services.
The advisory follows reports of mass killings of protesters, international condemnation from the G7 nations, and warnings of possible sanctions against Tehran. While Iran’s leadership has vowed to defend the country against external threats, the situation remains volatile.
The embassy assured that it is closely monitoring developments and stands ready to extend assistance to Indian nationals in Iran.
