Ministerial Berth for Vivek: ‘Timely and Strategic’, applauds Kama

Hyderabad: The induction of Chennur MLA Gaddam Vivek Venkata Swamy into the Telangana Cabinet has been hailed as a long-overdue recognition of his dedication, qualifications, and widespread appeal. Sworn in as a minister on Sunday at Raj Bhavan, Vivek, a prominent leader from the Mala community, has garnered praise for his accessibility and far-reaching connection with people across all communities.

Vivek, a former MP and son of late Union Minister G. Venkataswamy, brings a wealth of experience and a reputation for reliability to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s team. His inclusion, alongside first-time MLAs Adluri Laxman Kumar and Vakiti Srihari, marks the first Cabinet expansion since the Congress government took office on December 7, 2023. The ceremony, attended by Revanth Reddy and senior leaders, underscored the party’s focus on social justice, with representation from Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes, and other marginalized groups.

Senior Congress leader Kama Ashok Kumar lauded Vivek, calling him a “dependable and most reliable lieutenant” for the Chief Minister. “Vivek’s wit, exposure, and overwhelming access to the common people make him an asset. Though considered under the Mala quota, his reach transcends communities,” Ashok said. The Mala community has expressed overwhelming joy, celebrating Vivek’s elevation as a moment of pride. Mr Kama thanked AICC leaders, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge for the induction of Vivek in Revanth’s cabint.
