Telangana State Formation Day: CM outlines vision for progress

Hyderabad: On the occasion of Telangana State Formation Day, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy extended heartfelt greetings to the state’s four crore people, celebrating the historic achievement of statehood. In his address, Reddy paid tributes to Telangana martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the cause and expressed gratitude to former Congress leader Sonia Gandhi for fulfilling the long-cherished dream of statehood.

Reflecting on the decade since Telangana’s formation, Reddy acknowledged that the aspirations of the people, rooted in demands for emancipation, freedom, and equal opportunities, remained unfulfilled under the previous regime’s “dictatorial rule.” He highlighted the public’s mandate in 2023, which brought his progressive People’s Government to power to address these shortcomings.

Reddy outlined the challenges inherited from the previous administration, including a dismantled state economy and dysfunctional systems. Since assuming office on December 7, 2023, his government has embarked on reconstructing Telangana to meet public aspirations. Key reforms include appointing Vice Chancellors to neglected universities, revamping the Telangana State Public Service Commission for regular and transparent job recruitment, and establishing independent bodies like the Education, Agriculture, and Information Commissions, alongside the Lokayukta and Human Rights Commission.

Emphasizing Telangana’s intolerance for oppression and human rights violations, Reddy reaffirmed his government’s commitment to aligning with the people’s ambitions. The state is steadily rectifying past mismanagement, ensuring systems function independently to build a prosperous Telangana.
