Hyderabad: The stage has been set for a dazzling finale of the Miss World 2025 at the HITEX Convention Centre. It marks a historic moment for the host nation, India. The 72nd edition of the prestigious pageant, held in Hyderabad for the first time, saw 108 contestants from across the globe compete, showcasing a vibrant tapestry of cultures, talents, and humanitarian causes. The event, which ran from May 7 to May 31, highlighted Telangana’s rich heritage through performances like the Perini dance and displays of Pochampally weaves, positioning the state as a global tourism hub.

The participation of 108 countries underscored the pageant’s theme, “Beauty with a Purpose,” fostering cross-cultural exchange and global unity. Contestants from regions like Africa, Latin America, and Asia dazzled audiences with traditional attire, with notable performances from Miss Nepal and African delegates. Despite withdrawals from countries like Pakistan due to border tensions, the event emphasized peace and cultural pride, with participants visiting iconic sites like Chowmahalla Palace and Ramappa Temple. The absence of some nations, including Slovakia and South Korea due to academic and injury-related reasons, did not dim the event’s global spirit.
