The spiritual heart of Telangana, Bhadradri temple, came alive with grandeur and devotion as the celestial wedding of Lord Rama and Goddess Sita, known as the “Sri Sitarama Kalyanam,” was performed on April 6, 2025. Thousands of devotees from across the country gathered to witness the divine festivities, which were imbued with tradition, cultural significance, and spiritual fervor.
This year’s celebrations held special importance as the Chief Minister of Telangana attended the event after a gap of eight years. The Chief Minister, accompanied by his spouse, presented silk clothes and pearl necklaces to the deities on behalf of the state government, marking a renewed engagement with this cherished festival and its traditions.

The previous Chief Minister had attended the festival only during the first two years of his tenure. The participation of the current Chief Minister in the event marks a significant gesture that resonated with devotees. Adding to the splendor of the occasion, Pattu Vastrams (silk garments) were offered by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD).

The TTD chairman, BR Naidu, and his wife, Vijayalakshmi took part in the Kalyanam, further enhancing the significance of the event with their presence. The contribution from TTD symbolized the unity of two sacred centers of devotion, Tirupati and Bhadrachalam, underscoring the shared cultural heritage.
The rituals commenced with the “Abhishekam” (holy bath) of the deities, followed by the grand wedding ceremony at the Mithila Mandapam during the auspicious “Abhijith Lagna.” The idols of Lord Rama and Goddess Sita, resplendent in dazzling jewels and silk, were a sight to behold. The temple town was adorned with vibrant decorations and illuminated with lights, creating an atmosphere of divine celebration.
The event featured cultural performances, devotional music, and the traditional “Edurukolu Utsavam,” symbolizing the ceremonial meeting of the divine couple. Devotees were blessed with “Laddu Prasadam” and “Talambralu”, sacred rice, adding to the spiritual experience. The proceedings were broadcast live, allowing devotees worldwide to join in the celebrations.
The district administration ensured seamless arrangements, including enhanced security, medical assistance, and transportation services. The festival reaffirmed Bhadrachalam’s place as a beacon of devotion, with this year’s celebrations reflecting a renewed commitment to tradition and spirituality.
The combined efforts of the temple authorities, the state government, and contributions like those from TTD made this Sri Rama Navami celebration truly unforgettable. Devotees departed with hearts full of joy and blessings, cherishing the divine experience.
