Hyderabad: In a shocking case, a German woman was allegedly sexually assaulted Pahadishareef area on the city’s outskirts. According to police, the victim, who had arrived in Hyderabad on March 4, was lured into a car on March 31 by a driver and his five minor friends under the pretense of a city tour.
After visiting several locations, the driver dropped off his friends and the woman’s companion before taking her to a secluded spot in the Mamidipally area. Under the guise of taking more photographs, he allegedly assaulted her before fleeing the scene.
The traumatized victim later informed her friend, who helped her file a complaint with the police. The case has been transferred to the Pahadishareef police for further investigation. She was sent for medical examination and the accused was arrested by the police. His friends were also picked up and questioned.

In a distressing incident in Nagarkurnool district, a woman visiting the Sri Anjaneya Swamy Temple in Urkondapeta was reportedly gang-raped by eight individuals. The attackers ambushed her while she stepped away to relieve herself, overpowering her.
They restrained a relative who tried to intervene by tying him to a tree. Authorities have detained six suspects, while two remain at large. The case has triggered widespread outrage, with demands for swift justice and stronger safety measures at public places.
In a separate case on March 22, a 23-year-old woman suffered injuries after jumping off a moving MMTS train to escape an attempted sexual assault. The victim was traveling alone in the ladies’ coach when a man approached her with lewd demands and attempted to attack her.
In a desperate attempt to protect herself, she leaped from the train, sustaining injuries. She is currently undergoing treatment, while authorities have launched an investigation into the incident. The shocking case has raised serious concerns about security measures on public transport.
Women’s rights activists and citizens are calling for immediate government intervention to ensure stricter law enforcement and better protection for women in Hyderabad and beyond. Condemning the atrocities on the rise, BJP Mahila Morcha State President, Mekala Shilpa Reddy, denounced the fall out of the deteriorating law and order situation.
