Revanth’s Cabinet Expansion: High Command to iron out lingering Issues

The much-anticipated Telangana cabinet expansion under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy appears to be nearing its finalisation, but it still appears to be replete with riddles. Sources within the Congress party suggest that the cabinet reshuffle will be finalized by the end of this month, with four new members likely to be inducted.
On March 24, a crucial meeting was held at the AICC headquarters in New Delhi. Senior Congress leaders, including Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, and K.C. Venugopal, engaged in a two-hour discussion with CM Revanth Reddy, Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka, Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy, and PCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud.

The meeting reportedly resolved long-pending issues related to the cabinet expansion. Prominent names under consideration include Sudarshan Reddy, Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy, Gaddam Vivek, and Vakati Srihari. While six positions are available, the party is expected to fill only four for now. Additionally, significant changes in ministerial portfolios are anticipated.

The decision on portfolio changes is going to be tricky issue with the seniors not ready to forego even by a bit. The demand for representation from the ST Lambada community was also discussed. If not included in the cabinet, a Deputy Speaker position may be offered.

The Congress high command is expected to make the final decision soon, marking this as the last meeting on the matter. The reshuffle aims to balance political commitments and strengthen governance ahead of upcoming elections.
