Hyderabad Man Fined For Misusing Drinking Water to Wash Bike

Hyderabad: In an effort to curb the misuse of drinking water, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) imposed a fine on a man who was caught using potable water to wash his bike. The incident occurred on Jubilee Hills Road No. 78 and was noticed by Ashok Reddy, Managing Director of HMWS&SB, during his routine inspection.

While passing through the area, Ashok Reddy saw drinking water flowing onto the road. Concerned about potential pipeline leakages, he immediately alerted the local HMWS&SB General Manager, Hari Shankar. Local officials, along with the general manager, quickly arrived at the scene to inspect the source of the water flow.

To their dismay, they discovered a man using the drinking water supplied by the board to wash his high-end bike. As a result, the HMWS&SB imposed a fine of ₹1,000 on the individual and served him a notice for the violation.

Ashok Reddy emphasized the importance of conserving drinking water and urged citizens not to use it for any other purposes. He also requested the public to report any instances of water wastage they come across to the HMWS&SB.
