Hyderabad: The appointment of personal staff by Andhra Pradesh ministers will be undergoing stricter and thorough scrutiny from now onwards. Those who manage to secure positions will be subject to thorough monitoring allthe time.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is particularly concerned about the integrity of the personal staff of his cabinet colleagues, as the party and his government had to bear the brunt of illegal activities if any committed by such staff in the long run at the cost of the his own image.
The personal assistant of Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha, Sandhu Jagadish, has become the first casualty of this stricter observation. Jagadish was removed from his position following allegations of corruption. Reports suggest that Jagadish was involved in illegal collections for transfers, postings, and recommendations. Additionally, he was accused of engaging in settlement scams.
Complaints regarding Jagadish’s activities were received by both the government and the TDP high command, leading to his dismissal. Despite numerous allegations and criticisms against Jagadish, Home Minister Anitha initially ignored them. However, the campaign that Jagadish was acting with Anitha’s support gained traction, prompting action.
In a meeting with activists, Anitha herself revealed that Jagadish had been removed from his position as her personal assistant. This move marks a significant step in the stricter scrutiny of personal staff appointments by AP ministers.
