Hyderabad, December 28, 2024 – Rashtrapati Nilayam in Secunderabad is set to host the much-anticipated “Udyan Utsav,” a 15-day flower and horticulture festival, from January 2 to January 13, 2025. This event, organized in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, the National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE) Hyderabad, and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, aims to celebrate nature and promote environmental conservation and sustainability through public participation.
Highlights of Udyan Utsav
- Floral Displays and Horticultural Exhibits: Visitors can expect to see a stunning array of floral displays and horticultural exhibits, showcasing the beauty and diversity of plant life.
- Workshops and Thematic Stalls: The festival will feature workshops and thematic stalls where visitors can learn about innovations and technological developments in agriculture and horticulture.
- Mitti Café and Souvenir Shop: An eatery by Mitti Café and a souvenir shop will be available at the Visitor Facilitation Centre, offering refreshments and memorabilia for visitors.
- Composting Unit: The President of India, Droupadi Murmu, recently visited the compost unit on campus to witness the compost-making process. This unit serves as an example of producing organic manure from garden waste.
- Public Access: Rashtrapati Nilayam remains open to the public throughout the year, except during the President’s southern sojourn. Visitors can book their slots online to explore the beautiful gardens and participate in the festival activities.
President Droupadi Murmu, who reviewed the preparations for Udyan Utsav, expressed hope that the event would inspire people to appreciate and conserve nature.
