Hyderabad: In a shocking incident, a Sub-Inspector (SI) from Hayathnagar Police Station has been accused of harassing a woman who approached the police to file a complaint against her husband’s abuse. The SI, identified as Saidulu, allegedly took advantage of the woman’s vulnerable situation and made inappropriate advances.
The woman, a resident of Hyderabad, went to Hayathnagar Police Station to report her husband’s harassment. Instead of helping her, SI Saidulu took her phone number and began calling her frequently. He promised to resolve her issues with her husband but demanded that she fulfill his personal desires in return. He even went as far as to make WhatsApp calls, suggesting he would visit her home when no one else was around.
When the woman refused his advances, the SI threatened her, warning her not to disclose the matter to anyone. Distressed by the continuous harassment, the woman finally approached Rachakonda Commissioner Sudheer Babu and lodged a complaint against the SI. The Commissiner of Police has ordered an inquiry. This incident has raised serious concerns about the conduct of such police officers and the safety of women seeking help from law enforcement agencies. An investigation into the matter is expected to follow.
